Which browsers does it support?

Do I need an account?

Using Panic Button

How do I open the settings?

Right-click the Panic Button icon on your toolbar and open settings. If you cannot see the icon, pin Panic Button from the extensions menu.

How do I restore my tabs?

Click Restore tabs in settings. Your last closed session comes back, including pinned tabs. The settings page shows how many tabs are saved.

What is the default shortcut and how do I change it?

The default is Ctrl+Shift+Y (Cmd+Shift+Y on Mac). Open settings and press Change shortcut to pick any combination. In Chrome you can also open chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

Another program or browser feature may already use those keys. Choose a different combination in settings and try again.

What is the safe page?

It is the page that opens after your tabs close. Pick a search engine, a work site, or leave it blank for a fresh tab.

What does Clear today's history do?

When turned on, Panic Button removes today's browsing history as you panic. It is off by default, and Chrome cannot recover that history afterwards, so use it only when you want that.

Where are my saved tabs stored?

Does it work in Incognito or Private windows?

Browsers keep extensions off in private windows by default. In Chrome, open the extension's details page and turn on Allow in Incognito. In Firefox, open the add-on's page in Add-ons and set Run in Private Windows to Allow.
